ABOUT...

Australian poet Maggie May Gordon lives
on a sheep property in the western plains of New South Wales. Once
a Sydney girl, she commenced writing after taking up residence in
what she terms as "the real Australia". Since then, she
has won awards for her poetry and short stories and has had her
poetry performed in eisteddfods, schools and on radio.
Due to the popularity of her writing, Maggie now collaborates with
regional artist Faye Gardiner to produce "Country Rhymes...
for those who love the land" - a series of A4 prints, and also
"A Land Called Country" (book of verse) and "Jack's
Outback" (anthology of short stories set in the Australian
Outback). They will soon introduce another book "Country Rhymes
for Country Kids (and Kids who love the Country!)"
Maggie May Gordon is also the Original
Author & Lyricist of "Eureka!
the Musical" (Her Majesty's Theatre, Melbourne, '04). Eureka!
was nominated for Best Musical in the Robert Helpmann Awards for
Australian Theatre.
In September '08, her most recent theatrical work "SWAG"
(a love story set on the land during the Great Depression) was launched
by the Cowra Musical & Dramatic Society to wonderful reviews
("a gem", "a musical with heart") and 4 nominations
in the CATS Awards (Canberra Theatre Awards).
Maggie's lyrics have been performed in concert, on radio & television
and released on CD.

Australian artist Faye Gardiner
has lived and worked on the land and in country towns, in various
regions of the Central West of New South Wales. Her paintings, both
in oil and water colours, are much sought after by tourists and
those who appreciate Australian landscapes ... to this end most
of
Faye's time is spent at the easel. She also donates much
of her artistic talents to charity and has raised considerable
funds in this area. Faye also loves to 'capture with the brush'
the antics of animals and bird life, and in particularly Australian
fauna ("A Land Down Under"). . She also has a great love
of native flora which can be seen in the beautifully illustrated
"The Flora of Christmas".
